My name is Dennis, and I’ve been a self-made astronomer since I was nineteen years old.
When I was seven, my dad bought a telescope. This was in 1990, so what we were able to buy was limited.
Technological advancements were obviously not what they are today.
But that’s all it took. I loved gazing at the stars.
It was the only thing that kept my ADHD-riddled mind quiet and completely focused, so we would do this every night.
Off and on over the years, I had my times where it was a persistent activity, but even when I wasn’t stargazing, I was thinking about it.
Flash forward to early adult life. I began working straight out of college, and my job was production-based.
I had to produce or I didn’t get paid, and how much I produced affected how much I got paid.
I couldn’t focus or sit still (a problem persistent throughout high school), and I suffered because of it.
Until I took out a small loan, got a telescope, and began calming my mind down again.
It became a huge part of my life once again, and led to astrophotography, sky tracking, and diving into the intricacies of our existence and placement in the stars.
After enough time passed, my fellow astronomer pals urged me to make an Astronomer Guide. So, here we are!
You have an interest, and I have a fire in my heart to teach you everything I can, from photography FOV down to shutter speed, and a few larger topics as well.
